Thinking of adopting a pet for a friend or family member? Consider giving them a gift certificate to the Shelter so they can pick out the animal they want.

Through cooperative agreements with local veterinarians, all animals adopted from the Independence Animal Shelter are spay/neutered before being released to their new home.  Adoption fees for all canines vary from $30 to $120 depending on the services performed.  Listed below are current prices for services:

Adoption fees for all cats vary from $20 to $99, depending on the services the animal receives as part of the adoption process. The following services are available:

All adopted animals will require a series of vaccinations after they go home. Adult dogs and cats should receive a second Distemper combo booster vaccination two weeks after they were vaccinated at the Shelter. Talk to your vet about these.
