Anniversary Celebrations
The focus of the Sister City relationship is based on two cultures getting to know
one another and learning from the experience. Since the Exchange Program is based
on teenagers touring each others cities every five years, a tour is set aside for
the adults to have a chance at participating in the exchange.
Adult exchange trips are then signified by having Anniversary celebrations in both
Higashimurayama and Independence. In this short time the food, culture and friendships
are shared and renewed from anniversary to anniversary.
This Spring the Sister City Commission hosted adult guests from Higashimurayama.

In Higashimurayama, Japan the 30th Anniversary was started with dedicated JSCC members
having a party.
